Hello Sir,
I would like to ask whether the “other matter paragraph “(Other Legal & Regulatory Requirement section) and EOM will be included in the Disclaimer of the opinion audit report or not include it?
Thank you.
EoM – yes – since it has a specific purpose and does not affect the audit opinion (so decision to include in an auditor’s report should be irrespective of the audit opinion).
“Report on Other Legal and Regulatory Requirements” – it is highly UNLIKELY that you would be examined in any detail at all on this because it depends on jurisdiction – but AA is an international exam without any variants. This is typically where the auditor makes statements like:
“proper books of account as required by law have been kept …”
“we received adequate returns from branches not visited” … etc
So, where relevant to the jurisdiction, an auditor’s report would almost certainly include this section when the opinion is disclaimed (to say that proper books have NOT been kept/returns have NOT been received, etc).
