Direct discrimination & indirect discrimination

Hi sir,
Kindly correct me if i am wrong.
In books i found that direct and indirect discrimination applied differently that confused me.

Direct discrimination is one group is less favourable on others.like male candidate selection for specific position.

Indirect discrimination is there is some terms and condition in selecion like color of eye, age, marriage status,hieght etc.
Kindly make me clear on this topic.
