Hi All,
I am planning to write Diploma in IFRS conducted by ACCA in Dec’19 but my problem is I am not getting the required study material from Kaplan or BPP. I can see some material here on Opentuition but it is titled as Financial Reporting not International Financial Reporting Standard. Can someone please let me know if FR & IFRS is same and if someone can guide me about which book I should refer?
Regards,
ShashiJune 11, 2019 at 12:52 pm #520197If you compare the exam docs https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/student/exam-support-resources/dipifr-study-resources/dipifr-examinable-documents.html and syllabus/study guide https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/student/exam-support-resources/dipifr-study-resources/dipifr-syllabus-study-guide.html – you should be able to see whether June 2019 edition materials (published by BPP) are still relevant. You could contact BPP directly to find out when they will publish December 2019 – June 2020 edition (I would expect soon).
In the meantime you could refer to ACCA FR (Financial Reporting) and SBR (Strategic Business Reporting content) – the IFRSs covered in Dip IFR sit somewhere between the two. In terms of exam style and standard, DipIFR exam is more difficult that FR but less challenging than SBR.
You will find essential reading on ACCA’s www https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/student/exam-support-resources/dipifr-study-resources.html
We do not have an ask the tutor forum for DipIFR – but there is a forum https://opentuition.com/forum/acca-forums/dipifr-diploma-in-international-financial-reporting/
June 12, 2019 at 12:57 am #520247Hi . I too am sitting in Dec 2019 and i am unable to find the updated text. I have started to read the 2018 to june 2019 text. If you compare some of the topics i.e tax, revaluations you would find that except for minor updates the chapters are the same as those in FR study text. Just my 2 cents worth. But we still need to get the updated texts to be completely sure.
