January 16, 2023 at 1:21 am #676279Alhamdulillah!!! Passed with 51%. First attempt. And left 17 marks completely BLANK in the paper!!! Anything is possible with prayers!
January 16, 2023 at 1:25 am #676282@limlre – I was exempted from the first level – FA, MA and BT because of University
FR, AA, LW – June’21 – worked in Audit at a Big 4 for 3 years so studied for about 4 weeks for these
TX, PM, FM – Dec’21 – tougher than the previous set since never worked in these areas
SBL, AFM – Jun’22
AAA, SBR – Dec’22January 16, 2023 at 3:39 am #676305Any tips to pass AAA? Going to sit for this paper this june.
January 16, 2023 at 4:31 am #676320Fail at 49% second attempt
Have no idea what is life now
Just how to pass the exam goddamnitJanuary 16, 2023 at 4:43 am #676327Best tip I can give for AAA is to divide the syllabus properly and look at RISK in every aspect. The focus is no longer about sub procedures or internal control tests like in AA, it’s a lot to do with planning and completion stages and issues identified. Ethics is free/easy marks given, so are substantive procedures if you get the basic ones first.
Also do SBR first or concurrently, DO NOT attempt AAA without SBR as you need knowledge of auditing consol and IFRS areas i.e. pensions and derivatives for example.
1. Biz risk
2. Audit risk (not the same!!)
3. Misc engagements
4. Audit report
5. Audit quality ISQsAudit procedures for points 1,2,3
Look at the marking guidelines ACCA gives specifically for this exam, they give a lot of past candidates answers and how many marks they deserve for a long answer.
Hope this helps and good luck all! With 30%+ pass rates, AAA is not an easy exam but it’s doable if you don’t memorize.

January 17, 2023 at 3:59 pm #676778Hi

Thanks
VJJanuary 17, 2023 at 9:12 pm #676794This is my third time failing this paper. I keep getting a score in the 40’s and I’m getting tired. Those that have passed after failing can you please give useful tips as to how you changed your strategy which enabled you to pass?
January 18, 2023 at 2:53 pm #676919As an average student, I passed AAA with 55% on my 5 or 6th Attempt. I have one left, my advice is don’t give your money away free to ACCA put please give it to me or put it to March 2023 Exam. I tried twice I saw advice on this platform when it was late and many tried as well. ACCA will never change anything unless you are the lucky one.
Enjoy practicing passing AAA it’s like playing lotto game but with better chances of passing next time than lotto.
You might be tired of these same advice but DELETEdWatch and listen to all lots of audit videos exam practice on line and enjoy them. Know your weakness and strength on this paper and utilize both in preparation and during the exam date.
Depending on what makes you fast or happy maybe try to start with the last 2 questions in less than 85mins including reading and answering this is the skill the genius have those who score 60% and above, then you put all the time to Q1 knowing it’s just a race to put info on paper which is relevant to the questions asked for that exam only.Take all the easy marks in Q1 first but do after you have read the whole scenario and you had put the answering structure in place first for question 1, then run out of time when you have covered 90% of the Exam then you can get your 50s or above pass mark.
Show the examiner you know the risk but also remember that risk section during examine can put u off your planned time so try to do it last write 5 or 6 risks might help you to pass with good structure, ratios/trend analysis, write with confident like a manager and impress the examiner on this section since this question 1 is what examiner see first on your work and judges you from that first part.
Conclusion as an auditor you need to demonstrate that you can plan an audit, identify issues, finalise an audit, report and able to do other services this is only seen by the examiner judging on what you put on that day of the exam. So balance your answers from Q1 to Q3 then you pass this paper.
January 19, 2023 at 8:48 pm #677059Hi @maeveh999, wow that’s amazing! Congrats 🙂
I’ve sat the paper 3 times now and I would honestly love to pass in March.
Would you be interested in spending 1-2 hours a week online where you can go through your strategy please? (It’ll be paid)
I actually had my lectures with accountancy school in Dublin and I thought the course was doable but somehow I just keep failing the paper and getting a mark in the 40’s. My email is anuoluwa.i@yahoo.com, please reach out to me if interested.
If anyone else sees this and would be interested please also reach out as I think having someone that’s passed and can go through their strategy and advise me on where I’m going wrong is what I need at this stage. Please reach out and if I’ve found someone I’ll certainly let you know. - AuthorPosts
