I am also a finalist and can’t control the anxiety now as I didn’t receive any mail. However, I just read a post by someone from September 2020, who passed even though he/she never received the email of congrats. I just want to hang on this as my shock absorber.
January 13, 2022 at 4:15 pm #645913I am a finalist in South Africa this email story has hit me hard but I have realized that I must start preparing for March 2022 Exams. I wrote my final 2 subjects (AAA and APM) in Dec 2021
January 13, 2022 at 4:21 pm #645914I have received one too.
Will be very dissappointed if I failed.January 13, 2022 at 4:23 pm #645915@bungne2015 – please read my posts above – no email means NOTHING.
ACCA will undoubtedly put out an official statement which I will communicate at the earliest opportunity. I appreciate that this is an anxious time for everyone but ACCA is a huge organisation and there are processes that will have to be gone through. I can only say that I know this will be a top priority.
January 13, 2022 at 4:26 pm #645916Anyone received such email in Southern Africa?
January 13, 2022 at 4:29 pm #645917OK ladies and gentlemen – loosen up! This “glitch” appears to be to a batch of students in a specific region that accounts for only a small proportion of the total population of finalists. Please read my posts above – I REPEAT you are worrying needlessly.
January 13, 2022 at 4:33 pm #645918Aren’t the ones on Twitter who’ve had the email from Ireland
January 13, 2022 at 4:41 pm #645919OK Kim let me relax if you say so “NO email means nothing”. With ACCA I have learnt to accept failure immediately and start prepare for the next Exam session. We are all smart here but we can’t pass all at the same time some will now or some have already, then some in the nest sitting. To avoid disappointment until Monday I regard myself as failed until ACCA said otherwise. I hope to get the Exam fees!!!!!
January 13, 2022 at 4:41 pm #645920@Kim Smith. Dear Sir, we the students really appreciate your support and follow up on this forum despite the fact that it’s free. It’s really amazing to see that you read each and every post we make. We are very grateful. I have self studied since PM only with Opentuition ( from 2019) and I am very grateful. When I start working ( I am a stay at home mom), I pray I do not forget to give back. I particularly cannot forget, how John Moffat made AFM very simple for me, Sir chris made SBR fun…and you Sir, for all the timely replies.
Though the anxiety can’t seem to go. APM seems to really be messing me up as I want to Affiliate before starting to job -hunt.
January 13, 2022 at 4:46 pm #645921@PAMFRED, me too. I have already flagged my self as “failed”. I have already told my husband that it’s a fail again. Though it’s painful but there’s nothing one can do. I will rather Monday comes as a surprise. I have let down all hopes already.
January 13, 2022 at 4:47 pm #645922I’m not going to bother looking at mine just want to get my resit booked in when it opens up again
January 13, 2022 at 4:53 pm #645926My exam week before was chaos my wife and child were both ill with sickness and diarrhoea and I couldn’t get to a doctor to get the certificate. Tried all way up to 20th but couldn’t get certification as they wouldn’t certify after the fact, and couldn’t go at the time due to Covid. Emailed all this before the exam and put a mitigating circumstances claim in but don’t expect much, perils of doing this with babies lol
January 13, 2022 at 5:16 pm #645927As an Irish student who sat ATX which was my final exam, I got no email.
So disappointing that you’d find out like this, even more frustrating is I have to wait until June to repeat Tax so I will probably have to change now and try and cram a new exam in from scratch for March.
Really poor to find out like that. 🙁
January 13, 2022 at 5:27 pm #645931@Tony721 – please see ACCA’s Official response https://opentuition.com/topic/acca-statement-re-early-release-of-affiliate-message-2
January 13, 2022 at 5:28 pm #645933I’d be asking for a free resit
You have grounds
January 13, 2022 at 5:41 pm #645934Received the congratulatory email today. Reluctant to get my hopes up but received a follow up saying it is genuine and accurate. Had been reading threads from when this happened in 2020 and not receiving the email really is no indicator…
So I guess that takes the sting out of Sunday night for me – but also takes out the excitement of finding out I’ve passed on the night in a way…
January 13, 2022 at 5:44 pm #645936@ryanwilkes – you have no grounds for confirming to students their results in contradiction of ACCA’s Official response which I have just published. Please allow me to take a break this evening and go to the theatre – the production has been cancelled three times in the last two years so I am very much looking forward to it.
Your fellow students need supportive comments at this time!
January 13, 2022 at 5:51 pm #645937Apologies Kim I’d misunderstood the message regarding Irish candidates, good luck to all of them. Apologies. Enjoy the theatre.
My anxiety regarding an expected first fail is meaning I’m getting too involved in something that doesn’t involve me
January 13, 2022 at 5:55 pm #645938This is really frustrating and disappointing from ACCA.
Not the first time the glitch has occurred
We are taught in APM about having or implementing better controls and systems for organisations.
Yet ACCA doesn’t implement the same.
Really disappointed and disheartened. On top of that “generic emails” are being sent out on the same day regarding prepare for march exam. Further to that they know exactly the exam i wrote. Extremely disappointed.
January 13, 2022 at 6:02 pm #645939Thanks but allow me to exercise some healthy skepticism about that. As you said yourself in a previous post, 27 affiliates in Ireland last time around.
Between people I know sitting finals, people they know, here and Twitter I’ve already heard of over 10 people who received the email so I think the ACCA are just covering their base. It’s completely reasonable to think every Irish person who sat their final and passed received it. It’s not like we’re talking about India or US or UK who could have thousands sitting finals.

Congratulations to you.
January 13, 2022 at 6:34 pm #645941I think we have 6 people here from Ireland who got the affiliate email. I’ve seen another 4 on Twitter who have received it and I know of 3 who got it also along with another 2 they know of.
So that’s 15 people I’ve heard of who got that email. Last time out 23 people in Ireland became affiliate. You’d really wish the ACCA would be honest with Irish students here who sat their final. I think it’s safe to assume that if you’re an Irish student who sat their final like myself and didn’t get the email, it looks extremely bleak. The ACCA should confirm the status for Irish students.
It’s just really poor treatment.

In same boat. Got no email
Looks bad alright. The acca should practice what they preach and let Irish students know where they standJanuary 13, 2022 at 6:57 pm #645945Tony721 wrote:I think we have 6 people here from Ireland who got the affiliate email. Yes. If you’re an Irish finalist this time about you’d have to be the definition of naive to think you might still have passed.
The no of affiliates each sitting and the amount of confirmed emails would seem to point to every Irish student that passed getting one.
The ACCA statement was clear as mud. Basically doesn’t clarify the situation for Irish students at all. They should clarify if all Irish students who sat their final and passed received that email or didn’t. It didn’t bother to clarify that hid behind a vaguely worded statement.
Best of luck to you. Do you mind me asking which exam you sat? I did ATX but I think I will do APM in March as ATX has only two sittings a year and I found the volume huge in comparison to TX

Tony I did atx and apm. There is lot in apm but it’s more doable than atx but you would have to put a good bit of time into it
I think if you did not get the email in Ireland we are goosed
It’s hard to take but at least I don’t have to worry about it until Monday nowShocking behaviour by acca but I am not surprised, I am going to look for my exam fees back and you should too if you fail.
