I would like to find out as to when December 2014 course notes will be available on the site for download. Also need to know if new video lectures will be uploaded for the new exam formats.
June 15, 2014 at 4:53 pm #176642Number 1, there will be a new chapter on IAS 41 Agriculture and only slight amendments otherwise
Number 2, there are no plans as at today to record anything about the new format but I think I probably shall do before too long
June 17, 2014 at 7:22 am #176811In other words the I can still use the June 2014 Lecture notes for the December 2014 exams? I need to start studying now as I do private study and rely mostly on open tuition lectures.

July 25, 2014 at 2:40 pm #179658Dear Mike Sir,
I am preparing for Dec 2014 exams (DipIfr).
I have a small doubt in Mini Exercise of Group Accounting. (Acca F7 Course Notes, Page 203, Topic-Goodwill, Ques # 5 – Panda & Sloth).
There is a line which says: Panda has credited the whole of the dividend it received from Sloth to investment income.
How is this information relevant to us? While calculating the FV of TNA of Sloth, won’t we take this into account ?Link: https://opentuition.com/acca/f7/acca-f7-notes/
Thanks & regards,
SwatiJuly 25, 2014 at 3:33 pm #179668The mini exercises are substantially based on / copied from past exam questions. The only reason I can think of for that information being given in a question is because it’s a consolidated income statement question and the intra-group dividend would need to be adjusted.
The past exam question mini exercises are a cut-and-paste job so the information about the accounting treatment of that dividend must have been as reproduced in the exercises.
Sorry to have confused you and good luck with DipIFRS – if you need any questions answered, just post again
