but why do we need to analyse the culture? is it so we can make changes to the current culture?

It has to be analysed to see if it suits the company strategy. If not, it has to be changed. If it can't be changes, then perhaps the strategy can't be followed. There is a world of difference between the culture in a cut-price airline (watch the costs, minimal customer service) and a full price operator (emphasis on great service to differentiate them from the competition).

gromit i easily pick up points related to rituals and routines,stories and control system. but i struggle in picking up point related to power,organisational structure and status symbol. even though i know what these points but in the scenario im having difficulty. kindly help

Yes. Cultural web sets out what influences or determines culture; Handy suggests that cultures end up as one of four types.

ok thanks. im reading the pass papaer 2011 june Mahem. does initiation stage means the beginning of the project and the problems arising in the new project? 1. objectives is it the project sponser job to ensure that the budget and time has been met? in case study it states " she had delivered value for money by chaalenging the construction company", this is not part of her role is it? i dont understand in the solutions that it states the project sponser failed to recognise the business obj and project obj, i cant pick out points in the case study that shows the objectives were unclear? if the project fails who is to take responsibilty? 2. what is the difference between project manager and sponser.im confused. does the sponser support PM, where PM undertakes this new project and reports to sponser? 3. constraints- talks about time and cost? 4. im not sure of what the authority is, involve in making decisions? 5. resources- does the sources of finance, as i intially thought it was. dut think im wrong.

sorry another question, where in the case study does it show that the sponser failed communicate to employees?
