Hi,
I’ve just completed the exam after utilising your E1 lectures and notes and experienced at least a couple of gaps in your material. As far as I can see there is no mention of Reck and Long’s purchasing stages or Entrepreneurial organisational structure. These topics amounted to at least 5 questions in the exam. Luckily I passed, but I left feeling like the examiner was deliberately trying to exploit gaps in the free tuition material, given the significant weighting to these topics. Could you please point me to the appropriate sources if I’ve missed them?
I appreciate your offering these courses for free, but this experience left me questioning whether I can rely on your materials going forward.

April 14, 2017 at 9:38 am #381303We aim to cover all areas of the syllabus. You will, however, realise that our notes (perhaps 100 pages) must inevitably cover the material in less depth than a commercial text book of (perhaps 400 pages).
With respect to entrepreneurial structures, this is another name for Mintzberg’s simple structures which are covered, though I realise that me telling you this now is of little help.
Reck and Long was not covered, because it is not specifically mentioned in the syllabus. The syllabus is for the Opertional Level which is essentially an introductory level and a balance has to be reached regarding how much detail to include. This balance extends to students’ studies too: just because you use a text book of 400 pages does not guarantee you will be better prepared unless you study it very assiduously indeed.
We are confident that our materials COMBINED WITH EXTENSIVE QUESTION PRACTICE provide students with an excellent chance of passing their exams.
Congratulations on your recent success.
