Why it is not acceptable for the chairman to chair the audit committee?

7y ago#1The board has an executive role, the audit committee's role is one of oversight (which requires independence from the day-to-day). The chairman of the board can be a member of the audit committee - but not it's chair. (Roles would conflict.)
