Who should NOT prepare a payables control account?

C) Sales day book clerk

Sir can you please explain me how the answer is "B". As the purchase ledger clerk has most important character in payables section.

5y ago#1The purchase day book is not the purchase ledger - it is simply a list of invoices received.
The clerk preparing the list does not do any double entries and does not enter anything in the control account.

5y ago#3The answer is both B and C. Neither of the clerks is involved in preparing any accounts. The purchase day book clerk simply lists purchased invoices and the sales day book clerk simply lists sales invoices.
