patrick advertised a christmas sale in a local newspaper as follows' grand xmas sale, appliances at give away price. First 10 customers will get free electronic ovens'.
The day the advertisement was published , Mary responded to it by faxing a letter of acceptance and Jane also visited the store and bought a deep freezer, she was the fifth customer that morning.
Patrick realized that he was unable to obtain the electric ovens at a cheap price due to a fire accident at his supplier's warehouse.
Patrick therefore placed another advertisement the next day canceling the free gift and apologizing for inconveniences.

Mary and Jane are insisting that they are entitled to the free oven.

Advise Mary and Jane.

Are you really David Keely using a pseudonym? Is this a question for next June's exam? Have you made up the question?

What do you expect me to do with it?

And why can you not look up the answer for yourself?

You've got to bring in to an answer cases such as Partridge, Carlill.

Also you could mention postal rule.

Quick answer, I think Mary has no claim but Jane does.

But the idea of this site is that you get help on specific areas, not whole questions / topics.

Remember, it's not me that's doing the exam in June - it's you. So you are going to have to accept the fact that you will need to put some effort in over the next few months - and don't expect everyone else to do it for you
