Just wanted to say I’m in same boat as you going for CIMA gatewayIf you call or write CIMA they will give you precise details including laying bare all possible options
April 22, 2021 at 9:13 am #618502Hello, i also chose the gateway path. After communicating with cima support, i was told that gateway is actually the management case study. Difficult path but not impossible. For sure you need to study all 3 management modules and practice in case study scenarios. Open tuition is by far a precious accounting partner for all of us but you might need something more, just check for additional providers who offer management case study.
May 4, 2021 at 8:35 pm #619679Hi all,
I sat the Gateway(Management level) exam a couple of years ago after having exemptions from my previous MBA qualification. Having never worked in a pure finance role, I was worried about the jump into CIMA but it wasn’t as bad as I’d expected – apart from some of the F2 stuff.
Yes you’ll need to learn and understand the key elements of P2, E2 and F2, however I don’t recall having to do any F2 calculations in my exam. That doesn’t mean you can ignore F2, you need to understand the calculations and ideas, but you might be able to save some revision time by not over practicing calculations over and over.
Biggest piece of advice, really really really understand the case study and the industry the case study is set within. I was really lucky that my case study was on an industry that I had previously worked in, so I had a good understand of both the company and client demands from that industry and having able to use that knowledge was a huge reason I passed first time. If you have friends, family or other connections that have first hand experience of working in the industry that your case study is on, I highly recommend you speak to them.
And finally, good luck!

Also sitting in the gateway exam in Aug 21 and downloaded all the free notes here for E2, P2, F2, much appreciated this website.
Anyone could advise if the exam is open book or not? Unable to find any information about this.
Thank you!
July 26, 2021 at 6:36 am #629425Hi,
I’m also preparing to sit the gateway exam in the next months.
I would like to know for how long did you prepare before sitting the exam? And if I’m doing just the management case study is it necessary to revise the Operationa Level content’ or just the E2,F2 and P2 subjects?I would appreciate any experience you have had
Thank you!
