Hi all
Sitting first CBE exam on Wednesday and it’s a “Session CBE”.
My docket says to arrive 1 full hour before exam start time, which means 8am at a location the other side of town for me.
Just wondering has anyone experience with adherence to this arriving an hour before exam? I understand for CBE they will have to assign us computers, etc. But I can’t help but think a full hour is far excessive. Any idea if arriving only 30-40 mins before exam would cause any issue?Plus, can’t think of anything worse for exam stress than having to sit in a room for a whole hour before the test begins!
March 3, 2020 at 9:22 am #563814Arriving an hour before the exam gives time for computers to be allocated and means you’re not rushing around and can relax/last minute revision before the exam.
Some exam centres do get really busy so they do need the time to get everyone in and allocated seats – they’ll call you in around 10 minutes before the exam to go through rules etc anyway. I’ve arrived 25 minutes before the exam nice when I was running late and got my allocated seat around 2 minutes before the exam started.Personally 40 minutes before the exam should be ample time to be allocated.
March 3, 2020 at 10:12 am #563830If it’s your first CBE, 40 minutes – 1 hour earlier would be a better choice, since they need to check everyone’s ID in front of computer and this takes about 1.5-2 minutes to proceed, if your exam hall have 30 candidates sitting at the same time, it will need about 1 hour, so this is trying to ensure everyone are sitting in the hall, and start exam at the right time.
Do note that in my exam for F5/PM, there is special request that once your enter the hall and be allocated to the pointed seat, DO NOT touch mouse or keyboard unless the supervisor told you to, because the paper is delivering, and if you touched, it might cancel your exam.
