In one of the questions, furniture and furnishings and
Refrigerator and microwave cooker were eligible for capital Allowances.
I was kind of surprised because I thought these wouldn’t be included. But they were.
And AIA was claimed on them.
Do these come under plant and machinery category?
And if so, are these categorized under main pool?
Thank you.
Plant = something that performs a function in the business (furniture and furnishings)
Machine = used in the business (fridge and microwave)
Imagine a staff room in a business that has those items – they qualify under the rules above.
Most items of P&M go in the main pool unless they specifically have to go in the special rate pool (as per the list in the coursenotes).
I got it now.
Very grateful to you. 🙂
No problem.
