Can review, observation , and inspection be considered evidence?

Hello Sir, In Kaplan revision kit, I have seen that review is considered as evidence. For example, In the Dec 2013 question DASSET, part (a) (ii) ask for evidence expected to find in respect of the accident at the Ledge Hill Mine. One of the evidence appear in the suggested answer is "A review of forecast financial statements and management accounts to confirm the amount of revenue still being generated by the factories." So I am confused. It seems like an action word which should be a procedure. Please help me understand this. Please consider observation, and inspection also in this context. Thanking you

we can rephrase the above to get rid of confusion ,may be just putting confirmation instead of "to confirm " or may be confirmation by reviewing the fin statements that the revenue is still being generated by the factories or there is one similar to it in the bpp kit review of ledge hill mine accident book/log for confirmation that no one was injured in the accident and confirmation that the undamaged portion of the mine is operational ,eg from reviewing engineers report .. i think we can use review for evidence as there are many in this kit too, such as review of draft disclosure re.provisions and contingent liabilities review of cash flow and profit forecasts with respect to going concern ......

It would probably be better to say "Notes of the review of ..." But this depends on the precise question that is being asked If the question is a P7 classic ... "State the evidence that you should expect to find ..." then "A review of the accident book ..." would not score However, "A schedule of matters extracted from the accident book ..." would score Same with observation and inspection ... "... a report written following the attendance at and observation of the client's inventory count ..." or "... a report following the visit to and inspection of the work in progress in the research department ..." The 5 classic ways of gathering evidence are by way of: Analytical review Enquiry Inspection Observation calcUlation In light of that, review can be considered as evidence where it is used as a synonym for inspection or observation OK?
