I will have completed f1-f3 soon and am thinking about order of other exams. Can I take f5 paper exam before I sit the f4 as CBE?

What's the maximum number of exams you can take per year?
Has it increased with the introduction of March/Sep exams? ACCA website says '8 distinct exams' over the year.

No it has not increased, you are allowed to give only 8 papers distinction ones.
But there is no limit on resits.
