calculation of equity on a consolidated question

Sshonamushayi10y ago
please kindly explain the difference in the calculation of eqity (share capital and reserves),according to lectures when consolidating under equity it should only be the parents equity that is shown in the consolidated sfp, hence in dec2010 they include the additional shares and the share premium why cant we just show the parents own equity ? how can i know when to include the extra equity and share premium and when to just leave the parents equity only being represented in the sfp

It is ALWAYS just the parent's share capital. There is never an exception! NEVER an exception. Look at the question from December 2010 again. Now, which company is issuing new shares? If you're still confused, post again.

Third line of the question "The share issue has not yet been recorded by Premier ...." That means that you're going to have to record it! And that means that the share capital as shown in the Premier statement of financial position is going to have to change Does that get you any closer?
