Sir how to find bottleneck when there are multiple products.i have seen ur lecture of bottleneck and I understood that very well
I
I have question in in which there are three process
Weekly sales demand of products are given
Alpha. Beta. Grammar
Machine time p.u
Assembly in minutes 2. 3. 2.5
Quality control. In min 3. 4. 2
Packing in min. 4. 5. 3
Maximum hrs available foe the machine are 150 hrs (assembly ), 170 hrs (Quality Control) ,250 hrs (packing)
Ask the Tutor ACCA PM
Bottleneck multiple products
Why are you attempting a question for which you do not have an answer?
If you do have an answer then say ask about which bit of the answer you are not clear about and say what the weekly sales demand of products are (that you say are given).
Weekly demand of alpha,1000,beta 1500, gamma850 units
You know how long each unit takes in each process and you know how many units they want to produce.
So calculate the hours needed in each process in order to produce the demand required and compare with the hours available. Then it will be obvious which of the processes does not have enough time and is therefore the bottleneck.
(Again, why are you attempting questions for which you do not have an answer? You should be using a Revision Kit from one of the ACCA approved publishers.)
Sir I have an answer of this question but do not know how they calculated bottleneck.
I am dividing units by hrs of all process but it’s coming wrong...
I mean units divide by machine per unit Of all processes
It’s ok thanks i will try again question again myself
You should be multiplying units by the time needed for each unit, not dividing.
Sir the same question when allocating the resources now
In book the answer is
Units. Quality control Quality control
( Time taken minutes). ( Time left minutes )
Gamma 850 1700. 8500
1000. 3000 5500
1375. 5500
I am doing like this 1700+3000/4 And its coming wrong .i am not understanding How 8500 and 5500 came
Please help me sir
There are 10,200 minutes available in quality control.
If they use 1,700 minutes making Gamma then there are 8,500 minutes left.
If they then use 3,000 minutes making Alpha there are then 5,500 minutes left.
I have no idea why you want to divide anything by 4.
I tried this way. By calculating Minutes of quality control (1000*3)+(1500*4)+(850*2)=10700minutes are coming of quality control
How 10200 minutes came of quality control???
Good heavens!! You know how many hours of quality control are available because you are told in the question. Try calculating how many minutes that is!
