benchmarking

VipinVipin9y ago
Benchmarking can be thought of as a scientific way of setting objectives that will act as targets before and during the operating period, and comparators during and after the period. The above sentence is taken from technical articles. How are comparators and objectives differ? Why they set comparators after the period?

They don't set comparators/benchmarks after the period. Performance is reviewed against the benchmarks after the period. Objectives usually follow thenSMART rules. Comparators are really just the figures used in objectives. Not much difference really.
