How to calculate market share in a BCG analysis?
Reference: Kaplan Exam Kit – Q.no. 30 – ENT Entertainment Co.
The market share used n BCG is the ralative market share ie market share divided by the market share of the largest comperiror.
Just taking the cafe sector:
Market share for 2010 = 31/3072 = 1%
Market share of largest operator = 3%
Relative market share = 1%/3% = 0.33Similarly for other years and sectors.
