Hi tutor
When can Ansoffs matrix be used? Apart from growth.
Also can you please explain the types of diversification as Im quite confused reading my notes. vertical/Horizontal/unrelated/ conglomerate.
thanks
Ansoff is best used when you are trying to increase profits: increase market share, develop new products or new markets, or diversification.
Vertical = take over a supplier or distribution company
Unrelated = very radically different. Eg supermarket company taking over a road building company.
Horizontal = taking over a company with which you can cooperate such as a car company taking over an insurance company.
Related =vertical and horizontal
Unrelated= conglomerate
Thank you
