In Question: Salva owns the registration of a popular internet domain name. The registration, which had a negligible cost, has a 5 year remaining life (at the date of acquisition; however, it is renewable indefinitely at a nominal cost. At the date of acquisition the domain name was valued by a specialist company at 20 million dollars.
In this situation, I think I will calculate amortisation of this domain because it has a finite useful life.
However, the revision kit of BPP does not calculate it.
I really need your help!!!
“Renewable indefinitely” suggests that it has a useful life greater than 20 years so no amortisation
