    Hi all,

Hope everyone is good. I just wanted to ask a question as I am not sure if I am being very realistic with myself regarding everything.

I have my exams booked for the 3 Applied Knowledge Exams in the next 5 weeks or so.

My exam dates are as follows:-

    1. Financial Accounting — 20th November 2020
    2. Management Accounting — 27th November 2020
    3. Business and Technology — 16th December 2020

I know the exams are very near, I booked them as it was so difficult to actually get any dates and now Im panicking I have made a BIG mistake.

I have never studied accounting before and have 0 knowledge on the subject…

Am I being completely unrealistic with myself regarding being able to pass the 3 exams by using Open Tuition Notes and Video’s along with doing a ton of Practice Questions?

Is there no hope for me on this matter?

    PESSIMIC VIEW
i think as you have no foundation in accounting u should ficus solely on FA as this will determine ur future in acca and career too as in if u can accomplish.I also was in ur position when i started ACCA having no accounting background i gave BT separate first and then studied FA solely for 1 month and scored 80, it gave me confidence to pursue ACCA even if i fail in further papers that i have got what it takes and i can do it too. You will be demoralised if u fail at first step and will not attempt to make acca as profession. My advice focus just on FA ( and maybe if u r good at study then BT too) otherwise giving MA and FA together at this stage with no knowledge can be hell.

    OPTIMISTIC VIEW
there are plenty of ppl who give these 3 paper together and pass it too, i personally studied fa and ma both with opentuition and scored well although i did gave it separately, but if u have passion u can when u progress further in acca papers u will probably laugh at how u were stressing at these basic papers

Don’t worry about Business and Technology for now, focus on the other two. Management Accounting is difficult (not because of the concepts but because the syllabus is lengthy), so that should be your main focus. Print the notes for both Financial Accounting and Management accounting and watch all the lectures on this website for these two subjects along with the notes. When you’re done with the lectures start practicing the revision kit (assuming you’ve bought it). Make sure you make notes of the questions you got wrong in the revision kit and understand the correct way of doing it. That is what will make ur concepts stronger. It’s possible but you need to work extremely hard this entire month. It’s going to be stressful but it’s only for a month. You can easily study for the Business and Technology exam in 2 weeks after that.
