    Good Morning Mr Moffat,

Grateful if you could kindly advise whether there is any change ( inclusion / exclusion) in AFM syllabus wef Sep’19 though I feel nothing as such

    Thank you so much

However, find ACCA have added ‘ initial coin offering’ in the Syllabus wef Sep19 and excerpt of point 3a of said syllabus being shared below for reference… Is this ‘initial coin’ means crypto currencies? Seek your guidance

    3. Impact of financing on investment
    decisions and adjusted present
    values
    a) Identify and assess the
    appropriateness of the range of
sources of finance available to an
    organisation including equity, debt,
    hybrids, lease finance, venture
    capital, business angel finance,
    private equity, asset securitisation
and sale, Islamic finance and initial
    coin offerings. Including
    assessment on the financial
position, financial risk and the value
    of an organisation.[3]

    Thanks,

Initial coin offerings have been added, but it is very minor (and does not involve any calculations). And yes – it is the use of crypto currencies on an issue of shares.

Otherwise the syllabus is completely unchanged (except for clarification to the wording to make it clear that interest rate collars are examinable, but we knew that they have always been examinable 🙂 )
