Just want to get your thoughts, is it possible to be an advocate of two professional bodies? Or should it just be one?
What do you mean by advocate? Is this something different to ‘member’?
Hi Chris, I mean, supporter or endorser, I know that you can be a member of more than one professional body but to advocate or support both, because you truly support both, is that possible or allowable?
I don’t see why not, just because you are a member of one body doesn’t mean you can only support your own body, you might think they are all good qualifications and all do good work.
Certainly a better attitude than the ‘My professional body is the best and all others are inferior’ most qualified accountants I come across seem to have!
Thanks Chris, I appreciate your opinion. My reason for advocacy is different in each body. I do agree there is a degree of snobbery in everyone. One body can be perceived better than the other even though both actually meet and follow the same level of standards.
