Just want to get your thoughts, is it possible to be an advocate of two professional bodies? Or should it just be one?
May 28, 2019 at 11:41 am #517645What do you mean by advocate? Is this something different to ‘member’?
May 28, 2019 at 12:07 pm #517646Hi Chris, I mean, supporter or endorser, I know that you can be a member of more than one professional body but to advocate or support both, because you truly support both, is that possible or allowable?
June 3, 2019 at 3:56 pm #518590I don’t see why not, just because you are a member of one body doesn’t mean you can only support your own body, you might think they are all good qualifications and all do good work.
Certainly a better attitude than the ‘My professional body is the best and all others are inferior’ most qualified accountants I come across seem to have!
June 3, 2019 at 9:56 pm #518678Thanks Chris, I appreciate your opinion. My reason for advocacy is different in each body. I do agree there is a degree of snobbery in everyone. One body can be perceived better than the other even though both actually meet and follow the same level of standards.
