hello Ken.. i need your advise on planning about paper. i have just one paper remaining. thats P3.. i just hate ittttttttttttt…..(Sorry)…. i attempt p3 with p2 in june 15. p2 pass p3 fail.than attempt it in december 15 with p6.. i passed my p6 in 1st attempt but failed p3 again. i was too tensed and irritated due to p3 so i move towards p7, attempt p7 in june (hoping for a pass) now its a long time i leave p3. please help me mike what should i do. how can i pass.
June 24, 2016 at 7:37 am #323964So, you have failed P3 twice, if I understand you correctly. You don’t say whether those were marginal fails or more serious.
At this point I normally assume that you know the theories and models. If you don’t, then you need to know them – not to describe them (that is rarely, if ever, required), but to apply them to the scenarios in the questions. A question is usually at least one page of information and you need to pick up on what is being told to you and address the relevant point in your answers.
Therefore, question practice is key. We have some videos in our P3 about how to approach questions – look at ACCA Revision Lectures.
June 24, 2016 at 7:52 am #323969main issue of failure was that i am not able to complete my exam on time. some parts or big part remains after time. thats the main reason. e.g, 50 mark question took almost 2 hours than its difficult to complete remaining paper in remaining time of just a hour an 15 minutes… how i can overcome this issue… i got 47 in the first attempt and 45 in the second.. i was just shocked after second result.. p1 is also a lengthy paper but i have no time issue while doing it. in p3 i took most of time for planning and thinking about appropriate models and making points after applying it on question. than writing took more tim.
June 24, 2016 at 7:54 am #323970i found that ,p3 is lengthy+technical. how i can reduce its technicality?? in exam questions
June 24, 2016 at 7:59 am #323971I KNOW that practicing more and more past paper questions is a key to pass every ACCA exam… but when we enter in exam hall there will be different questions which consume much time to understand and we have to think on it… what should i do in exam hall????
June 24, 2016 at 10:13 am #323978Use 15 minutes to read, get to know and plan Q1.
Stop writing the answer to Q1 after 1.5 hours, be strict. Be strict with the time allocation in the other questions too. If you spend 2 hours on Q1 then one of the other questions might only have 15 minutes.
You cant’ reduce the technical content of the syllabus.
You were close both times. I strongly think that better time allocation would have been helpful.

You can’t go into the exam not knowing basic F5 material as well as the newer P3 content.
With a mark of 45 you should be easily capable of raising that to at least 50: there is now everything to play for.
