Hello, Kim, sorry to bother you again
I have read the response you recommended and you stated that’ Although this information will be contained in documents (e.g. a prospectus and the listing rules) the requirement is not to state the documents.’
However, when I actually get down to the specific questions, I get confused. For example, the’ 68 Jacob (P7 6/11)’ in the BPP Kit, there is an answer titled’ New head office-purchase documentation’ states’ Documents relating to the land purchase should be obtained…’
I’m still confused about the essence of the additional documentation, could you please clarify that again?
May 1, 2022 at 8:58 am #654701My apologies that point was not clear. Let me elaborate. Points of “Additional information” simply answer the question “what else do you want to know?” To answer the requirement to “recommend additional information”, you are NOT required to answer “where will additional information come from? (e.g. a document)” or “how will you obtain the additional information? (e.g. an action/procedure)”.
So in my original post I gave the example of additional information “Details of the listing [this was referenced in the scenario] including the number of equity shares issued and total amount of equity raised”. This gets 1 mark.
If a candidate wrote “Obtain a copy of the prospectus details of the listing including the number of equity shares issued and total amount of equity raised” – they would also get a mark because the additional information is stated – there is no credit for referencing the prospectus.
Another candidate writes only “Obtain a copy of the prospectus” – that gets 0 marks because it doesn’t say what additional information is wanted from the prospectus. The point you quote goes on “… [to ascertain] its value should Jacob wish to sell it” – THAT is the additional information that earns the 1 mark.
This means that candidates can answer the Q without knowing specifically where the information will come from – also it means that candidates don’t need to worry about naming specific documents (which might be called different things in different jurisdictions).
