Hi. In the notes it says that acceptance must be made within a reasonable time, is there any specific time or does it vary from situation to situation?
It varies. I seem to remember asking the students in the lecture “But what’s reasonable?”
Of course, students new to law can’t answer that, so I tell them …
“Reasonable is what is reasonable in the circumstances”!
In some circumstances, reasonable could be as short a period of time as ‘instantaneous’ whereas in other situations it could be a matter of days / weeks / months. I can’t instantly think of a situation where that time period could be years, but I’m sure there must be such a situation
OK?
