Hello,
Is it good or advisable to do ACCA parallel with MBA finance.. or should I wait for MBA finance to be completed and then take ACCA.March 4, 2021 at 6:24 am #613203Yeah doing mba with ACCA is very easy… a few friends of mine are doing it. moreover is easier to do MBA compared to BBA .
March 4, 2021 at 11:40 am #613289I did my MBA at Manchester Business School before I did my ACCA, was just the circumstances at the time due to my employer being willing to pay for an MBA. If you do the ACCA first you actually get exemptions on many MBA courses under their fast track scheme and this reduces the amount of time you need to complete the MBA.
Decent MBA programmes are very demanding because they take you out of your comfort zone and you are expected to work with others. This is especially the case if you have not worked in the other perspectives of business and strategy like marketing and supply chain; as it will take you more time to understand these topics. Therefore, I recommend completing the ACCA first then doing the MBA. The ACCA is also a minimum requirement for any Financial role, whereas the MBA is more a booster to your career and will help you at a senior management level.
I always ask people why they want to do an MBA, for me it was about expanding horizons and networking. Unlike the ACCA which you can self study for, you can’t complete an MBA at a top business school on your own. For example, my final dissertation project was a shared project with 4 other people and we all shared the final grade. Ultimately, this is a reflection of real life since as a Manager you are only as good as your team.
I disagree with the @mahimhossain’s comment on the BBA vs MBA… MBA is must harder, it is a Masters degree! BBA is a Bachelors degree and is at a lower level. I would be careful making such comments without backing it up.
March 11, 2021 at 7:28 pm #614209Thank you soo much for your response. It is really helpful, the thing is right now I have already started MBA and almost end of my first semester. So now I was considering if it would be beneficial for me to do ACCA with Mba now or should I wait for my MBA to finish and see my exemptions and then continue ACCA.
Could you also please recommend other financial professional courses to do with MBA otherthan ACCA now?March 11, 2021 at 7:33 pm #614210Thank you
