Hi,
I am an ACCA affiliate who finished the exams last year July. Since then, I have been working as an accountant and then financial auditor for a private business that has branches in 3 countries. It is a newly expanding business, not branches that existed for long. My role includes reviewing the business processes, ensuring accurate reporting, establishing costing and pricing, ensuring compliance, assessing operational risks, forecasting stocks for each branch, performing performance analysis for each branch etc. The environment is not structured with highly segregated departments or reporting lines that would have helped in signing off my practical experience. It is a private entity dominated by a single shareholder and operates on few technical staff. All executives report directly to the owner who is also the CEO. The owner is not very much educated. Now, what will I do to get my practical experience signed off? From the start of 2024 I developed high interest for financial analysis. This made me to enroll for corporate finance institute (CFI) programs. Now I am almost finishing FMVA certification and actively trying to do real company financial analysis. Some of these programs have CPD points that a qualified member would have earned. Is there a way to get benefit of this CPD points in the future once qualified or how does the CPD works?
Thanks, Kim.

To meet the 36 months’ practical experience requirement you need a practical experience supervisor https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/student/practical-experience-per/practical-experience-supervisor.html – if you really can’t find anyone suitable I can only suggest that you contact ACCA directly using the form https://forms.accaglobal.com/contact-us-affiliate or, if you have a local office, call the office

I suggest that when you obtain the FMVA certification you will be able to claim minimum 21 units of veifiable CPD – if not 40 units – the evidence is the certification. Or see here https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/member/cpd-landing.html ACCA’s CertBA is worth 36 units – so you might be able to claim 36 for the FMVA certification and another 4 units of reading AB articles
