what was the main focus on this exam?

Long questions were really easy but mcq's were extra challenging and time time consuming and with the lack of rough paper in remote paper , i did 2 long income tax and corporation tax questions which were piece of cake but then went to mcq's and i am 100% sure that i only did 6 or 5 mcqs correctly , everything else was a pure disaster , it was like my mind went blank doing mcqs and objectives were really confusing and challenging

MCQ in the paper was hard...and long questions were doable but not easy. Paper tested on dates ,fines and penality and in few question the calculation of benefits were tricky.

The Exam Was a Piece of Cake,Hope to pass when the outcome is out,Aced The Paper.

what topics came up?
UUsama6y ago#6
Literally everything examiner could think of and lot of admin bits questions here and there
UUsama6y ago#7
yup the mcqs were really hard , honestly some of them were outright confusing and more challenging then the Kaplan exam kit

Has anyone taken the CBE exam in Dubai? Are they allowing usage of scrap paper for workings? I'm really not comfortable using the scratchpad on the CBE platform and heard that due to the current COVID situation, using of scrap paper for workings won't be allowed?

Found the MCQ's relatively straightforwards, but really struggled on the long questions. Would be surprised if I got 2 or 3 marks on the last 15 mark question unfortunately.
UUsama6y ago#10
For me long questions were really easy but mcqs were hard asf , makes me wonder maybe all of us get different exam papers ?
Ssaftain6y ago#11
Is there anyone who used scientific calculator? Using that embedded calculator in software was biggest hurdle. In my paper, MCQS were easy .Section B was quite tough as there were alot of questions on tax savings and you can imagine how hard it gets when solve this type of questions without paper and calculator in hand in just one mcq . Long were also easy but ran out of time because of spending too much time on section B .
Jjohn6y ago#12
Yes, people get different papers.

You could have used a standard calculator in hand to save a bit of time.
UUsama6y ago#14
i think it depends on the time we chose , i chose morning time
UUsama6y ago#15
not to mention the scratch pad covers most of the screen and u can't adjust its size , so switching back and forth becomes really tedious , these online paper system is really crap , i miss those manual paper days when everyone had same papers and past papers were easily accessible.
UUsama6y ago#16
if ur giving exam sitting at home then no scrap paper is allowed however in examination center scrap paper is allowed

Section C for me consisted of employment income computation with taxable benefits and corp tax adjusted profits, couldn't have asked for a better section C. Section A was tricky but other than that it was an ok exam.

I found it quite easy compared to the BPP mock exams ... there were no resale of assets to compute in for capital allowance, only one question about deadlines, no rollover relief, no leasing premium or gift relief
Mmarina6y ago#19
Mee!!! Me! I have all of them: Rollover, leasing premium, gift relief and resale of assets. I personally found it extremely unfair not to be able to choose a paper version. So disappointed with the kinda “Excel” sheet on CBE. It is such a shame that ACCA is such a rich organisation and it saves our money on skilled IT experts to improve the system.

I think some persons may have gotten different versions\ papers for this exam. I want to know how the Caribbean students feel. For me, It was not difficult just differently styled from the revision kit and quite unexpected.
KKari6y ago#21
The revision kit and practice exams made me think it would be good. My actual exam made me feel dumb as a sack of rocks.

The alamak sdn bhd question got me alamak

I got An Easy Section A and Section C,I got questions on Employment Income,TTP,Corporation Tax and Income Tax Computation in Section C,Very sweet paper.I Also got NICs and some taxable benefits in section A,Section B Was A little tricky amd hard but will get some marks oit of it to get over the line.
Rrichard6y ago#24
It was not difficult but i hate the interface with excel for section c,it was the worse. Return that section to written.
Nnomanzz6y ago#25
In Section C It was OK but struggle with Section B and in Section A But I found Gift Relief Rollover relief. I think my paper is different What questions you faced in Section B What questions you faced in Section A
Nnomanzz6y ago#26
