Allhamdullilah Passed and now affiliate. ( End the chapter)
Sseth112y ago#92
Passed with 52% and now an affiliate!!! I cannot really believe it! To all felling regret and pain: I managed to do that in my 1st sitting , with just a couple of days study, with full time job and without any kind of guidance, lectures etc. I am not an exceptional student as others in here achieving some crazy 70+ marks and I consider myself just an average student. Also, my statement is further enhanced as I had sit F8 about 5-6 times in the past.... So,how I did it? I just finally comprehensed, realized and deeply in my heart understood that in the end ACCA is all about EXAM TECHNIQUE!!!! I know everyone say that, but only a few can REALLY understand and apply it. (this only applies to theoretical papers however). All I did was to do a couple of past papers and extract some key elements from past papers official answers. I don't understand why bother with third parties papers which are answered by tutors who are just not the examiner..!! I wrote 110% of the paper and despite my undoubtedly many comments unmarked, I managed to gather the magic pass marks... So , I feel that all non genious 70%+ candidates should apply this approach in da future!

I received this letter today from ACCA in response to my complaint posted previously.I still don't buy it as they will say anything for comfort. Thank you for your email which was sent for the attention of the ACCA Complaints department. I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy with your June 2014 exam results. It is not the intention of ACCA to fail our students, we want our students to progress into becoming ACCA Members and hold ACCA Membership until retirement. Exam papers are drafted and then reviewed by an Assessor whose job it is to ensure that the questions are relevant to the syllabus and that the paper is fair and balanced throughout. The Assessor also ensures that the suggested answers and marking schemes are suitable for publication. All scripts are very carefully marked. Marginal scripts receive even greater scrutiny than the clear passes or fails. Anyone with a mark in the high forties has their script looked at very carefully by the marker who originally awarded this mark to see if there are any other marks that could be awarded and if there are, adjustments are made. All of these marginal scripts are also reviewed by the examiner to see if there is any justification for any further marks, which the marker was unable to find, to be awarded. All scripts are also checked by a team of checkers to ensure that no tallying errors have been made either within individual questions or parts of questions or in total. Finally ACCA coordinators acting as examination auditors will also look at a sample of marginal scripts for each exam to ensure that the correct mark has been given in each case. Therefore, someone who has received a mark of say 47%, 48% or 49% can be very sure that their mark is correct and that no more marks were available. As ACCA uses the full scale of 0-100% in its marking schemes, it is inevitable that some candidates will have a mark which falls just short of the 50%. While this is frustrating for those involved, the candidate can be at least confident that with a little more work, a clearer understanding and using a better technique will be enough to get them through the resit exam. May I remind you that when you contact ACCA you are communicating with a professional body and this should be reflected in the tone and wording of your correspondence. Kind regards,

Does anybody know why the UK variant of this paper did not break down the marks for Q1 but did in the International variant for December 2013?

finally passed P7 with a good 54% , the exam was comparatively easier than previous diets. P7 is all about exam technique, however you should know the standards; they are extremely important and that's what differentiates an ACCA from a CA. get to know the standards and apply the examiner's style and you WILL pass God willing.

I strongly disagreed with those comments you wrote to ACCA. My personal point of view is that ACCA is always marking those scripts with fair and just way while upholding the ACCA standard for decades.. Candidates like to blame their failure by pointing to the markers perhaps thinking that they should be 'kind' enough to at least give a pass at 50 marks. However, have they really thought on the problems lied on their answering techniques or actual requirements of the questions if they claimed they have had equipped themselves with suffix knowledge and studies to sit for the exam??? Why got students pass with ACCA all at first sitting whereas some need to take a few attempts just for one particular paper? What I knew from those people who taking ACCA are they just prepare for next round with the determination to study smart and more hardworking instead of 'pointing their finger' to ACCA's fault.. There might be some candidates having the same experiences just like you but they strive their best for the next sitting and seek for improvement and do not repeat their same mistakes in the same paper..! ACCA exams especially in 'P' papers are designed and set in such a way requires answering skills in an analytical way and be able to understand the structure and requirements of the questions based on a scenario given by applying theories that had studied during the fundamental levels at the same time.. If oneself is lack of patient and not finding the problems which arose in line with the past failure but spending time writing 'harsh' emails to ACCA thinking that complaint is the only way to make a pass at 50 marks, then it is serve no purpose one should continue taking up the ACCA sitting as it won't be so many complaints make the coincidence just to get a pass at 50 marks.. This email is not bias to concerned student or anyone but merely to uphold the ACCA so that it could be able to sustain the high quality of ACCA affiliates after they have competed and passed all the exam papers..

'after passing 12 acca papers and 18 CA papers, i dont think if i ever were to give same papers again, i would passs… simply because they manage pass rates…' Every one would be the same so do I as there won't be repeated question in exact words and one can rewrite the answers in exact way back... If I'm not wrong, my previous email was just to encourage our peers and fellow friends not to give up! we can't alter the fact of ACCA manage their passing rates but just to respect them...we may to alter our way of learning for those who can't make it for the first attempt let say... Do digest the mail before attacking just one's personal point of view else I'm pleased to tell that you could have a sorry mental state instead.. Most of us have gone through tough and hard time in order to complete the ACCA, it would be fruitful one day if one can CONTINUE their hard work in a smarter way whichever one think i best justified instead of wasting time writing harsh emails to ACCA to make complaint ! complaint ! and complaint!

I failed both P3 and P7 and very disappointed especially because I have been registering for P3 and not writing it because I felt I was not really ready. This time, I did revise (self study and first attempt for both) and I thought I wrote well. I wish I can see my script. Never felt like this before. About P7, nothing was difficult especially because I have experience in the subject. If possible to those that passed please share the winning tips…and Congrats to you all guys!
