I want to appear for F8 in December 2016 session. Would I able to score good marks in the exam with using opentuition notes, video lectures and current edition revision kit from any ACCA approved publisher or need to use study text as well in order to understand better?

Is it possible to cover the whole syllabus and prepared for the exam well in this amount of time if I start from today?

    Thank you

Usmanraza, you have been posting the same kind of question for almost a month in relation to F4, F5, F6 and now F8.
This time you have even cross-posted the same question in this forum and in the F8 forum. Please avoid cross-posting.

    Study material:
As mentioned by myself and others in previous answers, OT material is up-to-date and comprehensive for all papers but there is no reason why you should not use other material in addition to what is offered on this site if you want to! Surely, that doesn’t hurt.
I never used study texts not because I’m stingy but simply because I am perfectly fine with the way things are explained in OT lectures and notes!
However, you might feel that you need extra help…
And you should definitely read the technical articles too.

    Good marks:
what do you mean by good marks? To me anything above 49 is a brilliant mark.
I have always covered the syllabus for each paper in detail and practised many past questions but I have sometimes ended up scoring as low as 54, which does not really reflect the efforts I put into it…
Acca exams are extremely time pressured, you need to be able to apply your knowledge to specific scenarios and to address the requirements precisely: that’s challenging even if you are well prepared, trust me.
Exam technique and time management are extremely important to secure you a pass.

    Time needed:
I think you still have enough time.
Start today and be prepared to commit yourself to a tight schedule.

    Hello palmy,

Actually I was not getting any response from anyone in the F8 Forum so thats why I posted here in the general forums. I am sorry for my mistake and will not repeat again.

    PAPER FOR December 2016:
I self studied F4 with Kaplan study text and exam kit (valid upto june 2016) and two days ago I bought a current BPP revision kit for F4 and F8. Today I attempted the MCQ,s of the first chapter of F4 and found some new things which were not their in Kaplan study text and exam kit. I made a right decision for buying current edition of F4 exam kit. I have no problem with F4 at all, as I can appear for F4 at anytime throughout the year because of its exam flexibility. As I mentioned earlier that I also bought F8 exam kit so appearing for F8 exam now in December and also started the first chapter of F8 today. I dropped F6 because of short amount of time to cover the syllabus and same case with F5. I found F8 syllabus to be least time consuming but dont know about its difficulty compared to other papers. I am using OT video lecture, notes and current edition BPP revision kit for F8.

    Good marks:
To me anything above 69 is a great mark.
What does it mean if a student prepared everything for the exam and practised as many questions as possible and managed to score very low marks in the exam?

But your points are also valid. Time management is very crucial for ACCA exams and I faced some time pressure in my FIA CBE exams. I am not sure what will happen in my case when I will appear for the exam in December session. I need to prepare myself from now.

I believe that I still have time to prepared for F8.
