Hi,
I have my ACCA F7 lectures starting this week. and I have my exam booked for March 18.
By the time my lectures finish it will be the first week of Feb, just wondering if there’s enough time to sit the exam in March, as I will only have a month to revise.
I also work full time, so I intend to study 2 hours every evening and at least 4 hours on Saturdays and Sundays.
From what I can see, F7 is very detailed and has a big syllabus. So i’m just worried about the time pressure.
any advice, would be appreciated!
Yes you have enough time, I took and passed F7 in December with 10 weeks study, and that was with studying for and sitting P1 also. I am also working full time. 1 months revision is enough – in this time you should be practicing questions 95% of the time. You can practice a lot of questions in a month!
You sound like you are planning about the right amount of study. 2 hours in the evenings and 4 hours at weekend is a good realistic amount if you are working full time. You don’t need to do more than that and it could even be counter productive. You don’t want to tire yourself out and it’s important to leave space for life too. Perhaps study a little more in the couple of weekends immediately before the exam. Do you get any study leave?
I would say that some people make out F7 to be a big monster but it is not any more difficult than any of the other Skills level papers (F4-F9). If you look in the F7 December results thread (or click on my username and look at my latest posts) I just posted some tips in there, these may help you.

My lectures are on the 17th Jan – 19th Jan then a week break, and then 31st Jan- 2nd Feb.
i’m just worried about the second week of the lectures, as I will still need time to go through content from the lectures. or would it be best to just go straight into exam questions from the topics covered in the second half?
Just don’t want to waste any time.

I have always self studied and never attended any lectures so I can’t really comment on how to study alongside lectures. My approach has always been read through the study text, making my own notes for 2-6 weeks, then question practice the rest of the time, revising any areas of the syllabus that I am repeatedly getting wrong.
