Hi everyone,
I am just after a bit of advice.
I’ve just started on ACCA and have two exams left with AAT which are business tax and financial performance.
My head lecturer said it would be best for me to start on F7 as I have already covered some of it with AAT but I was thinking maybe it would be best if I started at F4 because I’ve got my AAT exams in September and October then I’ll have my ACCA exam in December.
What do you think? Do you think I should stick with F7 or do F4 instead?
I’ve already had two lectures for F7 and haven’t had anything for F4.
Thanks everyone for your help.
September 7, 2017 at 10:20 pm #406619Are you planning to apply for exemption for your AAT? If so, you need to complete that first and then register with ACCA.
F4 would make sense to do as a start because in terms of difficulty, F7 is one of the tricky ones.

I am sitting my final AAT Level exams on the 25th September and October. I am currently ACCA in my local college which is platinum approved.
I am planning to gain exemptions from F1-F3. When I spoke to my head lecturer he recommended I do F7 this year and then either self study F4 and sit the exam in March or go to the classes for F4 next year.
With my two AAT exams coming up I am thinking that I will not have much time to revise for the F7 exam in December as it seems to be a big module. Do you think I should talk to my lecturer and change to F4 to sit the exam in December?
I really appreciate your help.
September 8, 2017 at 12:56 am #406633Hi, no problem at all, I think your tutor may have an idea of your capacity to pass F7 hence he suggested it. It is a very good paper to learn, I also did AAT and found the layout and approach are different in exams so you will have to familiarise yourself with consolidation and working format, etc.. Same principles of course. If you have affinity with the subject matter, you may find it easy to learn.
I was only saying F4, because as it is your first paper, it is better to start where you can assure a pass which is good to boost your confidence, and F4 is very manageable, still tricky but not as bad, in my opinion. Have a look at the lecture here, OT is brilliant.
September 8, 2017 at 7:36 am #406658Thank you Eagledave I really appreciate your help. I’m unsure whether to stick with F7 now as I have already had two lectures in it. I’m just worried with having to revise for two exams. I may find it difficult to find time to revise for F7 come the exam in December.
Thank you once again.
