January 13, 2020 at 1:28 am #558095Disappointing. I failed first time with 33%. However I knew I hadn’t revised enough so expected not to do so well. After this I took a full month off for pure revision in November and still failed at 40%. Doesn’t make much sense given the time and effort I put in for each exam with an increase of 8% 🙁

January 13, 2020 at 6:31 am #558166Passed, first attempt, 57 marks. Started studying from October, also took four day off before exam. Studied nearly every day. Used bpp, OpenTuition, ACCA notes, technical articles, made about 4 past exams. Also made free mockexam for 81 Mark’s (but not within time limit). But the most helpful was 1) Kaplan video about exam technique: write no more then 1-2 sentence per one mark, prepare a good structured report, time management 2) mockexam – I received a very good recomendation from the marker. So my advice: start making past exam as soon as possible within the time limits (4-5 exams), make mockexam, read all technical articles (especially “read the mind of the marker”).

January 13, 2020 at 11:08 am #558307First attempt pass with 61. My suggestions for the people who are going to take the exam are:
1. Make sure to cover all the questions types from BPP kit, fully understand them.
2. Read the AFM technical articles on ACCA website.( Those articles are quite helpful for understanding what examiners are thinking. There are also good techniques provided for how to do questions more efficiently)
3. Make sure you have sufficient time for preparing for the exam.Wish all of us good luck.

Please all those who have passed give some guidanceThe is a lot of blood and sweat involved, As well as sleepless nights if you are working a full time job.
Get a BPP text and Revision Kit and practice every question in it, And just rinse and repeat. Over and over again.
Don’t feel lazy or take any chances, This paper is not a joke.I know many who have written it 9 times consecutively.
Hope this was helpful. And goodluck with ACCA.January 13, 2020 at 12:49 pm #558366Second Attempt Pass. Now an ACCA Affiliate.
