    Hi,

The question is which one to choose? I got exepmtion from 9 exams, then passed SBL (54) in Sept19, SBR (74) in Dec’19 and hopefully AFM in March’20 so this would be my last exam.

SBL was quite OK however I was kind of surprised by low score as after the exam I was feeling more confident on my paper. SBR the other way round but went very well. I liked AFM exam but time management was really key for me (probably should have practice more questions). I have an audit background as was working in Big4 for 3 years. On the other hand it was a while ago and right now I think APM fits more my current career path and should be more fun for me. I’m just worried that SBL score wasn’t that great after all and APM may be similar hence AAA seems to be easier…

What do you recommend? Which one is easier to pass? Any thoughts?

No one is “easier” than any other – that is far too subjective a judgment. As you seem to have a genuine choice – many students don’t have “real” options – I suggest you go for whichever interests you most – the more time you invest in preparing, the better you should do.

Have a look at some of the resources before you choose – on ACCA www you will find in the introduction section for each an exam an “on one page” summary of the exam – e.g. here for AAA https://www.accaglobal.com/in/en/student/exam-support-resources/professional-exams-study-resources/p7/introduction.html
Dip into our notes/lectures – read some of the students posts on the ask the tutor forum – what do other students find difficult? Do you think it will be a problem for you?
Or skim read an examiner’s report.
Any of these things will give you an insight.

    Hi

Both papers are challenging I choose both AAA and APM as my options. For AAA to score really well you need to have the SBR Knowledge. took my three attempts to pass but that is my performance . For APM there is some cross over from SBL but APM is more focused on situation and environment. it is heavily based on performance measures and providing value adding solutions that may not be in a textbook.

Overall APM and AAA have lower pass rates usually than AFM and ATX

As AAA is based on accounting treatment and reporting standards the questions are more straightforward- black and white. when I comes to APM there is a risk in students misreading questions and not getting any marks

I just sat APM for March 2020 and the paper was OK
