I’ve just finished my BCom, and after accounting for a ten-day break, have about six weeks to prepare for the June 2011 sitting. I’ve planned to sit F2 and F5, self studying both, can I squeeze in F8 as well? Would I have enough time to do all 3 papers justice?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi there rrroar:

i wouldn’t recommend u squeezing F8. Like u i too wanted to squeeze in either F5 or F6 thinkin there r still 2 months. But after doing alot of talk with ppl who are already studyin for F5, i think going in for F8 wudnt be a good idea. im currently preparing for F2 n F4.

Rrroar, my suggestion to u wud be, instead of squeezing in for something new try to develop ur skills on f5 bcus i do not think it will be an easy paper, cus this is 1 paper u need to work really i mean really hard for. Going in for F8 wud only reduce ur time (something like opportunity costing- u know like a benefit forgone bcus of another decision undertaken) n will only create anxiety!!!

i cannot stress enough on how much practice u require in f5. so pls go in for f2 n f5, u have enough work already!

If ur still not happy with what im sayin and u feel u still can do it, i wud still say not to do it 🙂 I have an alternative. In my case i felt i cud go ahead with f6 but im not 100% confident bout that decision so instead of taking risk, i came up with this idea, i wud prepare for f2 n f4 “and” in my spare time do reading on F5. this way i wud already have knowledge bout the paper and so i wud be able to squeeze in one more paper in the dec session. Lets say im plannin on giving F5 n F6 in dec i cud be able to squeeze in F7 cus im already light weighted on F5 cus i read it earlier n so i wud be able to adjust my time for another paper which wud be F7 in this case. did u get the idea??

    I hope this helped u.
    Good luck!

    Plen,

I skimmed through the text today and saw what you meant, there does appear to be a lot of practice needed! I do like the idea of preparing for an extra paper in advance to sit for the dec session, I guess i’ll stick with just the two for now.

    Thanks for the advice 🙂

    @ Plen

I don’t think you should squeeze F7!!!!! If F5 requires you to work hard then F7 requires even harder work. F7 is bulkier than F5.

I did F5 and F7 together and believe me it’s not the best combination at all!!!!
