Ask the Tutor ACCA TX-UK

2 months for studying TX UK

VViorica5y ago
Hello! Is it possible to prepare for TX (UK) in just two months? I would like to take the June sessions but not sure.. Thanks a lot for your advice!

It is not the 2 months that is the key issue - it is about how much study time you will have available within those 2 months and then how well you individually adapt to the subject and whether you find it relatively difficult or straight forward - there is only one way to find out and that is to get started!

Thanks a lot for your answer! I have started with the BPP Workbook but now I was thinking to start with the free lectures from OpenTuition because it seems more relevant when you have less time available for studying.. I cannot say that the it is difficult but I can say that it require a lot of practice :) I will definitely try to allocate as much time as possible for studying and practice. Thank you for your advice!

Yes! Start with the lectures and study notes and do the assigned work at the end of each chapter When you refer to the BPP Workbook do you mean the study text or the exam kit - or have they rebranded their titles?

Thank you! Yes, the Study Text is named "ACCA - TX - Taxation - Workbook 2021" while the Exam kit is Practice & Revision Kit. Btw - I have the eBook version.

I would recommend that you use the BPP manual as a reference book to deal with queries that arise from your studies rather than use it as a reading book from which to study. You will need an Exam Kit however as question practice is vital for your exam success!

Hi, could you please give me some detailed information about your study? Did you used only OpenTuition lectures and notes or you study from BPP study book as well?

You will need the Open tuition notes to watch the relevent lectures. Then use BPP study book to add to your basic knowledge. It has extra practice questions too

Hi. Do you have detailed study plan to prepare the exam in this period of time? I have started with lectures and study notes for March sitting, but I cannot predict how much time it takes to cover all lectures and to have time to do the exam kit.

You would have to make your own plan based on how much time you have in your week to study. There are at least 10 weeks before the exam, which is sufficient if you have the time, in order to take the March exam. If I was teaching this course face-to-face I would have about 36 hours teaching time and expect my sutdents to do about 20+hours work at home. This probably works out about 5 hours a week or more. Hope this helps
