What is the CIA?

WHAT IS THE CIA? CIA stands for Certified Internal Auditor and is the only globally accepted qualification for internal auditors.

BENEFITS OF OBTAINING THE CIA QUALIFICATION

The qualification proves to employers that you have knowledge and ability in all aspects of internal auditing.

STUDYING FOR THE CIA QUALIFICATION

In order to obtain the CIA qualification it is necessary to pass 4 examinations (from mid-2013 – 3 examinations).

All of the examinations consist of multiple-choice questions and may be taken throughout the world.

You can study in any way you like – you can attend courses, study at home with books, or study on-line.

HOW TO REGISTER REGISTER FOR THE CIA EXAMINATIONS

It is not necessary to be a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors to be able to take the examinations. You do need to register for the exams and you can do this on the following web page:

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

The only compulsory costs are those payable to take the examinations.

These costs do not cover the cost of studying for the exams. This depends on how you choose to study.
