Truly thank you abin111. I’ve just passed SBR and AAA and have decided to go for SBL and AFM. I was abit anxious after that post too, time is a factor as most of us work full time and I was exempted for FM but my foundation of the principles is quite strong.
Given how hard any ACCA professional paper is I’ll definitely take your advice on board. I find BPP Kit extensive, it can go on and on and on. Kaplan on the other hand is more to the point. So just need to decide which get and ofcourse OT videos have always been my saving grace – super helpful as I can listen when I commute, cook etc. great let me get on with it for March!
January 17, 2025 at 12:25 am #714637First attempt 55%! Even though I finished the paper, Q1 was truly hard!
Took it with SBR got 70%January 17, 2025 at 12:23 am #714635Second attempt 70%! Exam technique sure does make a difference.
December 6, 2024 at 7:16 pm #714042Went with finance lease as well for reasons stated above. Also even though they could substitute it wouldn’t make business sense due to compensation of losses.
Therefore they should recognise a finance lease receivable.
December 5, 2024 at 9:39 pm #713982You’re right. Same.
I was winging the pension Q and revenue key judgements

December 2, 2024 at 11:24 pm #713721Oh I completely missed the GC point- instead approached it as an IAS10 and impairment given RA will now be nil. lol this is the thing it could be ANYTHING ? now I’m stressed. It’s so easy to miss the point lol argh
Unless my requirement differed slightly. That audit report was so messy hahhahaha
December 2, 2024 at 7:35 pm #713707Honestly Q1 was such a pain to hunt for risks OMG. So much info and really at the same time you need to decode what are the implications and frantically put something down. Argh. Hoping for the best.
There’s just no time. Any of you get the sustainability highlights? With the green loan?
July 15, 2024 at 12:29 am #708401I’m absolutely shattered. I’ve never failed an exam in my life so so dismally. ATX-Zaf. Shook! ??
March 23, 2024 at 11:57 pm #703331Hi both, how did your exam go? I’m preparing for June ‘24 paper.
March 21, 2024 at 8:05 pm #703285WOW!!! Thank you so much HD for such a comprehensive note – this has definitely given me the additional guidance I’ve been looking for. Although I’ll be taking the South African variant, these tips still fully apply. Love the noting of months on paper too, awesome tip because it is definitely easy to spend time recounting thinking you lost track! Thank you once again, I sure will be re-reading this post leading up to June.
April 17, 2023 at 7:57 am #68290447 – I left almost all of section c unanswered. I just knew it after that exam but I trully hoped for a 50. Oh well we go again. I shall leave no stone unturned!
March 6, 2023 at 10:10 pm #680316I felt the AA exam was okay, I must say I was abit thrown off by the 4 ratios but recalled the formulas. I’m a-bit mad at myself for not managing my time well which led to me leaving out about 15marks for the loan, sales tax and audit opinion questions. I’m confident I would’ve maximised on these except for the sales one.
The Audit risks take forever and knowing that if not well explained you might as well have not done it so that took up my time. I’m praying, hoping for 60% at least. Like I need this to go well after taking 2 year gap from studies. I used AA to ease back into studies, so I need this to be motivated to go for the other exams in June.March 6, 2023 at 10:05 pm #680315Oh my! I thought this question asked What two items would NOT impact the independence of the auditor? I really pray I did not misread as I remember eliminating the items that would first. Unless the afternoon session differs.
January 18, 2021 at 12:16 am #606355First time taking AA, got 47% I am totally bumped. Not sure whether to go for review?
