1st attempt – passed with 69%! I’m happy to help if needed.
I’m done with ACCA exams, just one report to submit and it’s OK.June 9, 2022 at 4:43 pm #658158Thé exam was really spécial. It felt easy but it was actuelly hard.
I got the same questions as mentionned before.
Time pressure is really a challenge honnestly!!!Q1)
– Complete the financial statements i.e. DPS, current ratio, ROCE, RI (left empty)
– Evaluation inventory management system and performance reporting system
– Balance scorecard appraisal
– Behaviour impact BSC has on staffThat was really hard in terms of Time and took me almost half of thé exam Time So it is Not easy to do well for the other questions.
There was a lot to say regarding thé current performance management system.
Béhavior impact of bsc on staff was ok as it was about explain une What gets measured gets done.
Thé bsc appraisal was hard for me especially as there was a lot of marks there.Q2)
– Apportionment of overhead of sales staff. Calculate and comment on impact
– Evaluate ABM and whether it should be implementedThats was weird as thé company didnt have money to Invest in a new IT system. I said it was good for them to implément it because it will help in pricing décision ( lot of compétition in thé industry So they need to remain compétitive), also will help with quality management So i made a link with TQM and thé quality issue they recently had with their shoes ; finally i made a link with kaizen as they can reduce costs gradually by for eg starting with rfid tags and then improve thé following Year. They had big issues within the warehouse So rfid could help.
I hope it is what they wanted. I tried to make a link with thé information.Q3)
– Risk attitude and challenges to changes in engineers’ compensation packages (Basic pay being reduced, fixed pay per visit and commission
– Director shares and general reward scheme linking to SH wealthHere for engineers i talked about demotivation, résignation, quantity over quality.
For directors i Said it was good to align but as it was Not an obligation then again it could be ignored.I am just waiting for the results as îll get them on vomi days haha

December 10, 2021 at 2:02 am #643637I feel like it’s not a permanent transfer but more of a « on loan player – temporary transfer » no?
I said it was intangible asset but thinking back about the exam I guess it was a lease because there was already a question testing intangible asset for development costs and promotional costs. They use to test different ifrs in each question in each exam so for me it was a lease. ArrrggghhhhDecember 9, 2021 at 6:07 pm #643526I really think the exam was not fair at all as the parts we have been questionned on where So spécific… it is Not even like prior Year period examen . That was hard and Time management was also really difficult.
I can remember almost all thé questions because they were all tough.
Question 1
A) fair value measurement difficulty for a company i think it was Not quoted So Level 1 measurement difficult
B) profit on disposal of a participation
C) cash flow adjustment really hard i didnt understand and it was 14 points
D) i dont remember what it was about… sorry…Question 2
A) ethical issue over really hard items like New législation but i guess breach of professionnel compétence and hedging
B) how to account for a three year contract
C) différent payment received ( gouvernement, donation,…) and how to account for themQuestion 3 crypto asset … i dont know what to say…
A) crypto asset disclosure requierement
B) development cost and promotional costs as intangible assets?
C) crypto payment 1m and 10m how to account for it
D) why an offer was an employee benefit rather than a share based paymentQuestion 4
A) structured debt was trade payable or debt ?
B) deferred tax ias 12 vs frs 102
C) deferred tax asset in a situation which was incomprehensibleAt the end I was like I studied that much for so many specific parts of the whole book….
But I stay confident I hope at least what I have done is good enough for them…

For Q32, I believe that I got most of the things asked correctly. The contract was pretty straightforward, same with the convertible loan. The only thing I am not sure about is the provision and the deferred tax.I remember that the overall amount from the lawsuit was 1.2m or something? 1.406? something like that and they made a provision for 800k. I don’t recall the provision note 100% but I believe it was saying that it was probable that they will settle. So I just added the additional amount and brought it PV and took the finance costs to the P&L along with the finance costs from the convertible loan. My logic was that since chances are that they will have to settle for the entire amount, why did they make a provision for 800k?
Just to note something here, don’t get stressed if you didn’t do the same thing as you might have done it right and I might have done it wrong.
Just a quick question, is it me or there was a hidden share premium there as well (in the share issue note)?
I got thé same q31 and q32
From your answer i can see a mistake i did.
Overall it was not Easy but ok. Hope to get a passJuly 16, 2018 at 4:34 am #462799First attempt pass 71%!
Thanks a lot Open tuition for the great work!!July 16, 2018 at 4:32 am #462798Pass 60% first attempt! Thanks a lot open tuition !!!
Keep going those who failed!June 7, 2018 at 6:03 pm #457603How was it 110 marks ?
We had
Part À 15 MCQ 30
Part B 3 exercices of 5 ququestions each 30
Part C each exercice was 20 which gives 40
Total 100..June 7, 2018 at 3:31 pm #457499We already mentioned before that CBE and Paper-based are not the same. They might similar questions but overall it’s not the same questions.
June 7, 2018 at 9:24 am #457410Yes but i spoke with people having done this exam before and they said you always think you performed well and then when you get the marks … They have specific words or items they want to find in our answers and that’s what make people loose marks.
If you look at the pass rates for this exam, it’s never above 50%June 7, 2018 at 9:02 am #457405Yes, why?
June 7, 2018 at 8:16 am #457402Yes, ACCA is getting really hard in marking the exams.
F8 seems an easy exam but you loose marks rapidly.
It was my first attempt, i hope i’ll have a pass.June 7, 2018 at 8:14 am #457401I feel like this exam is the most difficult so far for me;
It’s true that i was busing working as well so didn’t have enough time to study but still, i knew almost everything but it was difficult.
I guess i should already pay for resit in september … sad.June 6, 2018 at 10:57 pm #457311Thanks
June 6, 2018 at 10:43 pm #457307Are you working for ACCA? How do you know its correct.
June 6, 2018 at 8:21 pm #457254The 8 marks was bécause you had to draw a table With différent profit so all thé possibilities. There were 9 possible outcomes.
For the probability to get less profit i got 45% but not sure if Im correct.
The exam was quite tough for me … except part C

i got almost the same $240900. what was the answer to calculate the probability that Ted will make less profit?for merchandise, I took 60% margin only as sales.
10*0.6=6
20*0.6=12
30*0.60= 18
all above*probability * by 8700 (using probability to get to 8700)
8700* 45 ticket price
200K hiring castle hill cost
$50K + additional $5K for tour costs. (it stated for every 1000 increase tickets +5K tour cost)what was 8 mark question about?</blockquote
