Can you tell us more about yourself? My name is KAMRAN. I am from Pakistan but live in Bahrain . I have done ACCA mostly through Self Study and Opentuition.I have been working in a Role not related to Accounts and Finance mainly because the competition here in bahrain is tough and to get jobs in the top firms you need Good references which i dont. Many students are working just like you, how do you balance between studying, job and private life? Honestly it has been very difficult.The only thing that you need to have is Determination and along with that a little sacrifice of your social Life.Prioritization is the key here.You need to have clear Goals of what you want to achieve and how to achieve. Do you get support from your firm? Like time off work or do they pay for your tuition etc? No there has been no support from the organization. Although i did take unpaid Study Leaves when the exams are near. Which Study Texts and/or Revision Kits and other resources did you use, or found the most useful in your studies? I used BPP Text Books, open tuition notes, Past Exam papers from the ACCA site and Technical Articles. You have scored such high marks, many students must wonder what is your study technique? I spend Atleast 2 Hrs Every day. When the exams are near i spend more time. One very important advice that i would give is the Start revising as early as possible.THe earlier you start the better.For starting early it is important that you finish the syllabus by that time also.Dont leave anything understand everything.one more thing since the Examiner has changed practise all the past exam papers from Dec 2002 to June 2007 they have become more relevant now. What do you think was the most important factor in your success in your ACCA exams? I have worked hard. It becomes even tougher if you are doing a full time job.But as i said before DETERMINATION and PRIORITIZATION is the key. How did you find out about OpenTuition and which OpenTuition resources helped you towards your success. I came to know about opentuition from a friend of mine. I have used Ask the tutor,Course Notes,Lectures and sometimes Joined Chat Groups. No doubt Opentuition has been a great help. Opentuition is doing a great Job helping Students who cant Afford to study in Big institutions.I recommend this site to not only students who are doing ACCA but also other Finance Students.
