With regards to the diagram on communicating with the existing auditors it is mentioned that, if the existing auditors are not forthcoming with the requested information that they are authorised by the client to provide, the new auditors should try to persuade the existing auditors to provide the information or look elsewhere.
Does the ACCA Code of Ethics/UK Law not impose a responsibility on the existing auditors to deal with requests of new auditors promptly in this situation especially?
As a matter of interest, does the new auditor have any obligation to report the existing auditor to the ACCA for not honouring its responsibility in this respect?

Maybe the confidentiality between the old auditors and the company will mean they probably wont reply. Is that correct?
If you are using internet explorer you will need to go to settings and try to find the compatibility settings and add open tuition to it. This should then ensure the video’s are playable through internet explorer.
I have a question regarding the confidentiality of the audit report. I understand that it is addressed to the members of the company, but however, the directors have it too. And for the public companies the audit report as well as the financial statements are publicly available. How’s the situation after all?

Yes, but they might not comply.

It’s not confidential insofar as everyone can see it. However, it is addresses to the members and, strictly, it’s not to be relied upon by others.
