When you get to the end of a quiz select “REVIEW QUIZ” and you will find justifications. An “application” is specific – like ordering, inventory management, payroll, etc – antivirus software, firewalls etc are applied over numerous application – i.e. “general”.

So for application controls its stated in the lecture note that it could either be preventive or detective and manual or automated, but then in question 5 it said antivirus software is an example of application control, isn’t it also a preventive control as well? Because the answer says it’s only statement 1 that’s correct which I know it is but what about statement 2?
