Ken,
I failed SBL exam 38%, my concern is that I used SBL notes and did revision kit questions and few specimen papers.
Exam was not bad, I was able to understand the requirements and had fairly answered.
Can you please suggest where I would have gone wrong and what should I do before retaking SBL exam.
Thank You

I assume you know the facts and theories, so the problem must lie in question approach and the big danger is that you rely on theories too much, perhaps even describing them when you should be applying them.
Try a more practical approach: what would you write if a manager asked you for a report or letter or analysis? You would respond in a common sense way, often making relatively simple, obvious, but important points. You might not mention any theory at all
In the exam you have then to show more than common sense, so you need to justify or structure your responses by bringing in relevant theory (applying the theories rather than describing them).
So practise questions, primarily thinking what you would say using common sense then embellish your answers with theoretical, justification where appropriate. Only refer to the notes if you need more clarification after seeing the answers.
