Dear John
On your answer page 151 for F2, I am trying to follow your algebraic method, but I can’t see why you replace M in (1) with 2250 and 3% of S? Where did 3% and 2250 come from please? I am not the best at maths but tried to follow it through logically to no avail!
Many thanks
ShaunFebruary 28, 2015 at 5:57 pm #230797Have you watched the free lecture? (because I go through this example step by step in the lecture). You should not use the notes on their own because it is in the lectures that we expand on the topics. If you are not watching the lectures then you must get a Study Text from one of the approved publishers and study it in detail – the notes on their own are not meant to replace a Study Text and without watching the lectures they are not enough. They are simply Lecture Notes.
If you have problems with the algebraic method, then (as again I explain in the lecture) use the repeated distribution method. Both approaches give the same answer and the examiner cannot insist that you use one of the other – it is your choice.
When we replace M in the first equation we get S = 20,000 + 0.15×15000 + 0.15×0.20
If you multiply these through you get 20,000 + 2250 + 0.03 - AuthorPosts
