A firm uses a unique code to identify each customer- the first four letters of each name are followed by four digits.
Which one of the following will appear first when customers are sorted into descending order?
A) ADAM0001
B) ADAA0099
C) ADDA0100
D) ABAB0999the ans is given actually, but, i could not understand the ans fully. plz anyone explain me.
When sorting alphabetically it’s normal to determine precedence by where each letter in the code appears in the alphabet with the letter A being given the highest value and the letter Z given the lowest. Starting with the first letter in the code and then moving on to where the next letter in the code appears in the alphabet and so on.
In the example given option D would come first. As all the options begin with the letter A the sort will begin from the second letter in the code option D has the highest value letter as it’s second character the letter B all the others have the letter D as the second character.
