Are you able to elaborate on the loss on investment in the sub of 110.9m USD? I know it is an adjustment on the SFP but unsure as to the other side – would we put it in OCI in the SPLOCI? Also do you mean that the gain or loss that we calculated on translating the entire sub has already been accounted for in SFP through our shorter method in the group RE?
I would really appreciate your help on this – thanks so much.
Hello , i dont get the part in the example 3 , the group retained earnings were $110.9M but the profit for parent in Group P&L statment is $52.8 M ? isnt both the Group retianed earning s aprering in Group SFP and profit in Group P7L should be same figure ? .
Hi. From the workings of example 4, I can’t understand why the profit for the year of $144 (already a figure in USD) was converted, it is already a figure in USD. Thanks for clarifying.
Hi, I am working in audit company I have a client who makes translation differences a bit differently. For example: net assets translated as: OB n.a. / OR * (CR – OR) profit for the year: profit for the year / AR * (CR – AR)
The results are different than using approach mentioned here. Is it correct as well? Why approach is different?

Sorry I meant the loss of $23.3m on investment rather than 110.9m

The 144 figure is not in USD. It’s in Dinars..
